Driven by innovation and the desire to be the absolute best, the Axe® EliteONE USSSA Bat provides players with revolutionary technologies to maximize swing speed, enhance power, and comfortably connect with each pitch you pull the trigger on. This one-piece model is engineered with top-of-the-line MX8™ Alloy, which is given a special heating treatment to maximize pop from the moment you remove the wrapper. Bold, Fearless, First: MX8™ Alloy Barrel undergoes a special heating treatment to ensure explosive pop right out of the wrapper Composite HyperWhip™ End Cap removes unnecessary weight from the tip of the bat for a faster swing, bigger barrel, and larger sweet spot One-piece alloy construction, balanced for a combo of speed, contact and power Axe® Bat Technology: Engineered Hitting Zone extends maximal performance and strength to the entire 270-degree contact area, so you’ll never need to rotate your barrel for durability – a benefit you only get by swinging an Axe™ Handle Shock-absorbing Endogrid™ technology built into the handle reduces bottom-hand vibrations for a smoother, more comfortable swing Patented Axe™ Handle enables your best swing, more often – maximizing bat speed and improving barrel control for harder, more consistent contact NOTICE: We recommend that you receive approval from your local league before removing the wrapper from your bat.

More About Dick's Sporting Goods at Liberty Center

DICK’S Sporting Goods was founded in 1948 when an 18 year-old Dick Stack was working at an Army surplus store in Binghamton, New York. An avid fisherman, Dick was approached by the store owner to come up with a list of products needed to get into the fishing tackle business. After Dick presented his suggestions, the owner told him he was a dumb kid and had no idea what he was doing. Dick was upset and promptly quit. He went to his grandmother’s house where he spent a lot of time as a kid and told her what had happened. Dick’s grandmother asked how much it would cost to build the store himself. Dick said it would cost $300. His grandmother then went to the cookie jar where she kept her life savings and gave him $300 and told him “do it yourself.” Dick used that money and his relentless work-ethic to open a bait-and-tackle shop in Binghamton. By 1958, he expanded his product line to include much of what you’ll find at DICK’S Sporting Goods today.
