Book Synopsis A new adventure of The Lonely Mailmans beloved characters. A charming tale, printed in stone paper, that invites readers to think about the emotional impact of jealousy, the importance of empathy, and the ability to forgive. Deer wakes up every morning at the break of dawn, when the sun begins to rise and illuminates the entire field. Deers daily routine consists of harvesting seasonal fruits: winter is the time for oranges, pears and apples, spring for strawberries and cherries, summer for raspberries and figs, and autumn is for chestnuts and hazelnuts. And you may wonder ... What does Deer do with all those fruits? You see, Deer loves to cook with all the ingredients that he collects every morning, but what makes him extremely happy is to gather all his friends and share his elaborate dishes with them. One morning like any other, Deer starts his daily route, but someone seems to have already been there... Worried, Deer decides to go home, and what a surprise! The house is turned upside down and... someone has stolen his precious Secret Recipe Book! Do you dare to discover this great mystery? Review Quotes Praise for The Lonely Mailman : ...the artist unifies the palette throughout with such touches as the red wings of butterflies and red, autumnal leaves on the trees. The effect is to suffuse the pages with warmth. A loving tribute to problem-solvers, quarrel menders, and peacemakers. --Kirkus Reviews This lovely book about forgiveness shows that friendship can form even in the most unlikely situations. --Kirkus Reviews A satisfying tale about a character so woven into the fabric of the day-to-day that the full extent of his impact goes unnoticed until, thanks to an observant mouse, it is recognized. A lovely choice for most shelves. --School Library Journal This story is full of friendship, solidarity, and other important values. A delicate picture book, with warm, detailed illustrations, where the reader can browse through the letters that each animal receives from a stranger. --Canal Lector A book that talks about friendship, solidarity, and other values. A delicate and pampered text written by Susanna Isern accompanied by beautiful, warm, very autumnal illustrations. Cuento de Luz printed this book on stone paper using an eco-friendly printing method. We love it. --El Pas About the Author Susanna Isern (La Seu dUrgell, Spain, 1978) is an award-winning childrens books author. Since she published her first picture book in 2011, more than 30 childrens books have seen the light of day. Most of her works are sold internationally and can be found in more than a dozen languages, and also written in Braille. Daniel Montero Galn (Madrid, 1981) was born prematurely, at the early age of zero. His head was always full of birds. As time went by, they reproduced, and along came a lot of different kinds of creatures, making a great noise--squawks, grunts and screams... so he decided to transfer them into paper to silence them. He keeps a deal with his drawings: they live thanks to him and he lives from them. Because of this symbiosis, more than thirty illustrated books behind him stand up for him to testify that his thing in life is drawing. Day by day, and every other night, he continues to perfect spiral and rectilinear shapes to keep fit without losing shape. Watercolor fights a great battle with the marker to have a leading role on its cardboard.
